Currently, there are 3 ways to complete the BOM reconciliation on our platform.
1 - Specify MPNs in your design files.
This is easiest, and recommended if possible. Please see this article for reference:
2 - Upload your BOM as a separate file - .CSV or .TSV are accepted.
If you want to upload the BOM as a separate file, please see this article for reference:
3 - Manual reconciliation.
This takes a little more time, is easy to complete, and is the process needed if you keep your MPNs external of the design files (in Excel or some other application). You can think of our BOM like it has a built-in search engine, and you would copy/paste the MPNs in the search bar, hit search, and click approve when the part shows up in the search results. Please see the below step by step pictures.
Red highlight means an item needs reconciliation:
Click on the line, and a new window will pop up. There you will see a section titled "Add Parts" with a search bar below it:
Copy/paste in the specific MPN into the search bar, hit search, and click approve when the part shows up in the search results. There will then be a green highlight, meaning reconciliation is complete:

In addition to searching for a specific MPN in the search bar, there are 2 useful additional manual search capabilities:
In the search bar, you can also search for any sort of part description. As we are plugged into Octopart, we have access to their broader search capabilities.
We pull data from your design files, and when clicking onto a BOM line you will see these appear in a column on the left titled "Specifications" and if you click on any of these specifications it will auto-fill the search bar. See picture below:
