Testing services

CircuitHub's requirements and process for testing services on your assembled products, covering quoting, test fixtures, procedures, and warranty.

CircuitHub is happy to offer testing services of your products. Below are some important details to keep in mind.

Quote

  • To provide an accurate quote, a time study must be performed.
  • Please provide a test fixture and procedures and at least 10 circuit board assemblies to perform a time study (these can be taken from an existing order that we are building).

Test Fixtures

  • We require 2 test fixtures with all connectors, power adapters, computers, etc, in duplicate. This helps us be more efficient, but it also helps us confirm if a failure is related to the test fixture or the product.
  • We have partners that specialize in making test equipment that we'd be happy to connect you with. (CircuitHub does not make test fixtures)
  • You're welcome to supply your own but it should be robust and capable of withstanding repeated uses for the full quantity of your order.
  • If a computer is not integrated into the test fixture, you will need to supply a laptop with all software configured and prepared for testing. (please avoid using a desktop)
  • We will perform basic maintenance procedures (i.e. replacing test points as they wear out).
  • A video conference can be arranged for basic troubleshooting but a malfunctioning test fixture will be shipped back to you for repair. You will be responsible for the shipping costs back and forth.

Procedures

  • We require written step-by-step instructions with images as appropriate.
  • If you can send at least 2 golden boards to validate the test fixture.
  • Videos are especially helpful.
  • We highly encourage an onsite visit to prepare our team for the process. But this can also be done remotely if necessary.

Warranty

  • In the event of a failure, products will be tagged with the appropriate failure point.
  • Any failed products will be re-evaluated by CircuitHub to confirm conformance with IPC-A-610 Class 2 and repaired and retested as necessary.
  • Any products that fail test but conform to IPC-A-610 Class 2 will be tagged and shipped to you with appropriate documentation for further troubleshooting.
  • All products need to be tested and diagnosed by you so we know where to look and what to repair.
  • A basic troubleshooting guide can be provided for in-house troubleshooting. These should be simple and straightforward (i.e. "If test X fails, inspect/replace U1, R4, C6). This can reduce the number of products being shipped back and forth.
  • Any products that fail test but conform to IPC-A-610 Class 2 will be invoiced upon shipment. Once diagnosed by you, you can send us the assemblies for rework within 90-days of receipt of the initial shipment.
  • See our RMA Process and Warranty help document for further details.
