Managing consignments on CircuitHub

Turnkey builds are preferred for their efficiency and we request that you reduce the number of consigned parts as much as possible. However, we understand that there are sometimes cases where you need to consign us parts, especially for parts that are hard to source like ICs or connectors.

This guide will walk you through the process of managing consignments on the CircuitHub platform, making your order management smoother and more efficient for both you and our assembly team.

Marking Parts as Consigned

1. Opening a Project: Start by opening your project page on CircuitHub.
2. Consigning a Part: Click on the part you wish to consign. This expands the part line.
3. Confirming Consignment: Select 'Consign' and confirm. The quote will automatically refresh, showing that the part is now marked as consigned.
4. Undoing a Consignment: You can undo this action anytime by clicking again, reverting it to turnkey.

Shipping Consignments

1. On the order page, navigate to the consignments tab. You'll see the parts marked as consigned and the quantity needed.
2. Print the provided shipping label (a PDF) and ensure to send extra parts for attrition. After shipping, upload the tracking number in the provided section.
3. The label should include the order number, crucial for the receiving team to assign parts correctly.
4. Checkboxes are available if you want parts stored post-build or if you already have some parts in stock.

Packaging Requirements

1. Order Number: Ensure the order number is on the package.
2. Part Separation: Each part should be in its own bag, labeled with the quantity and the manufacturer part number.
3. Exact Part Numbers: Send the exact part numbers listed. If there are alternatives, attach a spreadsheet indicating the approved part numbers.

Efficient Shipping and Handling

• Alternative Part Numbers: If using different part numbers, inform via a spreadsheet attached on the order page.
• Direct Shipments from Distributors: If parts are shipped directly from distributors, include the order number for easy identification.
• Packaging Preferences: Preferably send parts in tape and reel, tray, or cut tape. Please avoid tubes whenever possible.

Managing Multiple Orders

• Separate Packaging: For multiple orders, it's better to use separate boxes. If they must be in one box, ensure each order's parts are bagged individually with the order number on each bag.
